The idea for Delicious Data came up during lunch at the uni canteen. Shortly before closing, there was still a large amount of freshly cooked food at the counter, but at the same time no more guests on site to eat it all. This is where we became aware of the problem of waste in the catering industry for the first time.
Globally, the problem is much bigger: about a third of all food is lost along the value chain worldwide. This is not only a waste of valuable resources but also harmful to the climate.
We founded Delicious Data with the aim of using advances in artificial intelligence to increase sustainability in the food sector.
