The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a concept that pursues the goal of peace and prosperity for all people as well as the planet. It was adopted by all member states of the United Nations in 2015. At the heart of the Agenda are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, or Global Goals. As part of a global partnership, they represent an urgent call to action by all developed and developing countries. The UN goals recognize that eradicating poverty and other hardships can only be achieved with strategies to improve
can be achieved. All of this must be done while ensuring the fight against climate change and the protection of our oceans and forests.
Delicious Data was founded with the aim of using advances in artificial intelligence to increase sustainability in the food sector. Since our founding in 2017, we have been able to increasingly sensitize companies from the areas of food retail, system gastronomy, communal catering, as well as bakery businesses to the problem and have since been working hand in hand with them to make a prudent consumption and production climate the new standard in Germany. Working with our partners, we have been able to make a significant impact, saving over 230,000 meals, 289 tons of CO2e emissions, and 4.3 million hectoliters of virtual water in the first half of 2022 alone.
With the help of our software, we are thus making a significant contribution to achieving the 12th Sustainable Development Goal "Responsible Consumption and Production" and to preserving our planet.
At the same time, Delicious Data not only enables the reduction of food waste per se, but also the efficient use of resources such as water or electricity, which are needed for the production, transport or even cooling of food. As a result, we also contribute to mitigating climate change and its impacts, the 13th SDG target.
The reduction of food waste by means of precise sales forecasts and food waste monitoring also allows both the sustainable use of agricultural land and the sustainable management of the ocean by counteracting current overfishing. Thus, we are also able to act on the 14th and 15th SDGs: "Life on land" and "Life under water".
Last but not least, increased planning accuracy means that agricultural land can be used more effectively. Food that would otherwise be thrown away can thus be used and redistributed in a more targeted way elsewhere. In the long term, this enables us to support the 2nd Goal "No Hunger - End Hunger, Achieve Food Security and Improve Nutrition, and Promote Sustainable Agriculture".
Delicious Data's software not only makes sustainable business a breeze. It also enables cost savings and more time for the customer. In addition to sales forecasts and food waste monitoring, the Intelligent Day Planner uses scheduled production tasks to help ensure that products are always available in the required quantities. This guarantees customers the best possible freshness and increases sales without overproduction or sell-outs. The collected key figures, such as CO2 emissions saved or meals saved, always remain in view with the dashboard and can be used externally effectively in communication with customers or the sustainability report.
